| Showcasing sustainable solutions - after much work over a period of three years a building was conceived that would demonstrate sustainable issues and showcase our sustainable products. This building finally achieved planning permission in 2005, construction was completed in December 2007. |
| Insulation and Air Tightness |

Heat is lost through the fabric of a building and by air exchange, drafts and leaks, to the outside. The building has high levels of insulation, double glazed windows with low U-value and has been tested for air tightness. Warmcel insulation made from recycled newspaper was pumped into wall cavities and ceiling voids. Thermafleece insulation made from sheeps wool was used in internal walls with the added benefit of good sound proofing.
