On Wednesday 23rd April 2008, the Greenshop Group opened its new building in a launch ceremony with a speech by Jonathon Porritt CBE, Chair of the Sustainable Development Commission, board member of the South West of England Regional Development Agency and founder director of Forum for the Future. Also in attendance were David Drew MP; Roger Budgeon, founder/owner; Greenshop Group staff, and over 200 invited guests.

Landmark for microgeneration: legislation to slash red tape

The microgeneration industry today welcomed new Government legislation which will slash planning red tape to make it easier for people to install microgeneration technology. From 6 April 2008 microgeneration technologies will become permitted development which means householders will be able to take up microgeneration, within sensible limits, without having to apply for planning permission.

Over the course of November and December 2007, the Greenshop Group moved into its new building designed by award-winning eco architects Architype. The Greenshop, which has been promoting and selling environmental products for over 20 years, has invested in the new building as a way of bringing together key staff from its five businesses - the Greenshop (supplying the UK's largest range of eco paints), Auro Paints, Consolar UK, Greenshop Solar and Rainharvesting Systems Ltd.
