Heating Design Engineer

Location – Bisley Stroud.

The Company

Greenshop Solar is a relatively new company formed from The Greenshop specifically to target renewable energy systems within buildings. This rapidly growing technology and market sector is demanding increasing knowledge and skills from energy and heating engineers to meet the sustainable building requirements of the future.

Greenshop Solar is the UK distributor for solar thermal and thermal stores from Consolar in Germany. The company is based at The Greenshop, Bisley, three miles from Stroud.

The Position

The post requires a knowledge of boilers and heating systems for domestic and commercial systems and appropriate qualifications. The successful candidate will be working with others to design and install solar, gas, oil and wood heating systems in domestic and commercial buildings. The position is essentially office based, but travel to support other UK installers will be required.

Candidates should have or be prepared to achieve qualifications that would enable registration under a Competent Person Scheme in one or more of the following:- Hetas, Gas Safe, Oftec, or similar.

• Be familiar with, and have an understanding of the design and installation of energy systems within buildings
• Have good communication skills
• By computer literate
• Have the ability to organize their workload
• Be self motivated
• Have a flexible working attitude
• Have a good sense of humour – you will need it to work here!

The job will entail:-

• Designing, selling and commissioning
  After sales support

Hours of work will be based on 40 hours/week with overtime available as the workload dictates. Occasional weekend work may be required by prior arrangement.
